SC/ST & EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL


The SC/ST & Equal Opportunity Cell at Kottakkal Farook Arts and Science College aims to empower students from SC/ST and other marginalized communities by addressing their educational and cultural needs and ensuring they benefit from various government and institutional support systems.

Objectives:

  1. Education and Empowerment: To educate, enlighten, and empower SC/ST students and staff, ensuring they utilize the facilities and opportunities extended by the Government of India and other agencies.
  2. Data Collection: To collect and analyze data regarding the implementation of policies in admissions, appointments to teaching and non-teaching positions, and fulfilling required quotas.
  3. Continuing Education: To organize Continuing Education Programs (CEPs) for students, researchers, teachers, and non-teaching staff to update their knowledge and skills.
  4. Employment Preparation: To prepare students for employment in Group ‘A’, ‘B’, and ‘C’ in central services, state services, and equivalent positions in the private sector.
  5. Grievance Redressal: To function as a Grievance Redressal Cell for SC/ST students, providing necessary help in solving academic and other problems.
  6. Special Coaching: To organize and monitor special coaching, training, and remedial classes for SC/ST students to prepare them for UGC-NET/SLET/JRF/SET and other competitive examinations.
  7. Financial Coordination: To coordinate with government bodies, UGC, and other organizations to secure scholarships, freeships, and other financial benefits for SC/ST students.
  8. Representation Handling: To address representations from SC/ST candidates regarding admission, scholarships, recruitment, and other related matters.
  9. Database Maintenance: To maintain a database of SC/ST students to facilitate placement services.
